Press Release
Kristof is a singer-songwriter. His heart has always been torn between places. From the banks of the Loire River in Orleans where he grew up and the Guerande Peninsula where his father’s roots are, the sense of attachment and longing for people away has always echoed strongly.
Now based in Carrick-on-Suir (Ireland), he bought his first LP of the Clancy Brothers as a teenager so fate was already taking the helm. He happily sat in on sessions in and around Carrick for many years until the urge to pen down personal stories grew. The first song to emerge was shortlisted on an Imro competition and so the story begins.
Nice Place is his debut album and is due to be released on the 10th of September 2020. It consists of 10 original tracks, all but one written by Kristof. On this album, Kristof is joined by many friends: Gay Brazel – former Tweed- (on all kinds of sliding instruments, electric guitars…), Mick Grace (drums/cajon), Cormac Hennessy (double-bass), Ano (backing vocals), Paddy Flynn (Glockenspiel) and a French guitarist Stephane Lefort. Finally to blend all this, the album was mixed by the “magician” Alastair McMillan.
The talents of these lads bring the listeners along in a gentle and relaxed stroll by the river and the woods, to a feverish jive, and back to more “mem’ries knocking on your shoulder” moments; even one in French!
