A little piece of Eden – A reflective collection of self-penned & subtle traditional English music arrangements with haunting songs and dazzling instrumentals for harp, keyboards, concertina, melodeon & guitar. Although classically trained, this 6th album of Sarah’s reflects her wide range of interests and influences in musical genres, from the medieval sounds of John Taverner to the African rhythms of the Kora, to the poetry of her native Dorset, and the natural sounds of birds, wind and the dawn chorus.

For release on 10th July 2023, the album has 4 original songs by Sarah and features guitar, gazuki & melodeon played by Phil Williams. The songs reflect life in the countryside past and present, with traditional songs blending with Sarah’s own songs about the changes that have taken place in rural Britain, including the losses in nature and the beauty of the natural world.

Sarah says of the album ‘My music, whether solo classical pieces for harp, choral works or folk music, is always inspired by the landscape and nature within it that I love. This album particularly reflects my personal feelings on the changes in rural life, from my childhood in north Dorset, to where I live today in rural Cornwall – the crash of biodiversity, the diaspora of small communities and the damage of intensive farming, these are all changes that I have witnessed with my own eyes – but in recent years the growing rewilding movement gives us hope that these problems can be solved.’

Sarah’s solo performances and subtle accompaniments on traditional harp have thrilled audiences at the major harp festivals around the world, in Australia, USA and Europe. She is also a freelance lecturer for the Arts Society on the medieval harp in England on which she has collected original research material. Throughout her life Sarah has been an environmental campaigner, she has run local single issue campaigns, is a speaker for the Woodland Trust and a Trustee for Devon Rewilding charity Keep it Wild.
