Tom Houston’s new (and sixth) album Everything In The Delicatessen boasts an impressive array of topnotch UK musicians who add flavour and spice to Tom’s unique songwriting. The album is co-produced by Joe Murray and Tom who worked across the Minch and into home studios in London, Edinburgh, Reading and Belfast. The 13 tracks also cross musical boundaries and genres reflecting Tom’s refreshing and original approach to song. Tom was songwriter of note on BBC Radio Scotland’s Iain Anderson Show and has had tracks featured on BBC 6 Tom Robinson best of the year mixtape for three years running. Tom has also co-written a Christmas song with Chris Difford and has worked extensively with Neill MacColl since 2012.

Everything In The Delicatessen attempts to give the listener that ‘up close and personal’ experience with ‘local produce’ of high quality. From the opening piano of Rod McVey (the Corrs, Van Morrison) on Alexandra Staying to Neill MacColl’s (son of Peggy Seeger and Euan MacColl) closing electric guitar on Hanging On Like Salt the instrumentation and arrangements are a wonderful and varied counterfoil to Tom’s voice and lyrics.

Tom Houston has formed and played in bands such as Paper Tiger, Un-speakable Acts, Delicious Houdini, Bamboozle, Tom Houston and the Keltic Band (USA), and davesnewbike. He has been musical director with Fablevision and the Arches Theatre, and ran an award winning mutli arts company called INTER-ACT for 28 years.

His current work encompasses : spoken word, soundscapes, stories and songs.
