The Scots Trad Music Awards 2018 – The Trad Album of the Year highlights the trad recording industry and showcases the vast number of albums which are released each year in the trad/folk music genre. Albums eligible for entry are those released between September 2017 and August 2018 and must have more than 6 tracks or 40 mins of material. Only albums within the folk/trad genre are eligible for this award.

The Longlist (20 releases), decided by an industry panel, will be announced in October 2018. The shortlist (10 releases), decided by 50% industry panel and 50% public, will be announced in November. The winner will be announced at the Scots Trad Music Awards on 1st December, Perth Concert Hall.
